This book was minimally useful but I studied the MALC Syllabus extensively with the core ITIL Publications in advance of receiving this book. I read through the book in two sittings, but did not use it again. The greatest usefulness would be to candidates who do not have the core books (an unfathomable thought to say the least, having reached this level in the ITIL Scheme). After passing the examination leading to ITIL Expert, I briefly reviewed this book again in comparison to what was actually taught in the course I attended (vendor was GK). The contents of the book matched almost exactly the content of the course I attended. Four stars as the book did not really add anything new due to my preparation before receiving the book. It could be a five star book for those who do not have the time to prepare in advance of their actual course.

Good 10,000-ft overview.

I read this book the weekend prior to my MALC class. It provides a good 10,000-foot overview of the MALC course, however, the case study at the back of the book is not the case study used by the MALC class or the test. Yes, the case study for the test is the exact same case study used in class and for the sample exams.

If you are taking the Managing Across the Lifecycle exam, this is a good read. My only complaint is, it took a really long time for this book to arrive. So, make sure you order it several weeks in advance.
